1. Why is Leo Diamond so unique?

Thanks to careful calculations and precision lathing, the patented 82-facet Leo Diamond releases incomparable brilliance. The unique faceting arrangement allows superior ‘Return of Light’, making Leo Diamond visibly brighter than conventional round diamonds of similar carat, color and clarity.

The ‘Return of Light’ is the refraction of light, including white light, color light and scintillation, by the facets of a diamond. A diamond with superior ‘Return of Light’ is a diamond of superior brilliance. Leo Diamond, with excellent ‘Return of Light’, stands out in a sea of diamonds.

Every Leo Diamond comes with certificates from GemEx Systems and IGI, and electronic checking verification. The triple verification is your assurance of Leo Diamond’s remarkable quality and ‘Return of Light’.

2. Where does Leo Schachter stand in the industry?

Founded in New York, Leo Schachter Diamonds is one of the world’s most established companies in diamond design, cutting and polishing. With its widely recognized expertise and a heritage of diamond craftsmanship which dates back to over a century ago, customers are guaranteed that every Leo Diamond is a work of art. Retailers from around the globe value Leo Schachter as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of extraordinary diamonds.

3. What is the difference between branded diamonds and generic ones?

The pursuit of quality is usually stricter for branded diamonds, and they usually excel in quality. Take Leo Diamond as an example, the patented 82-facet cut, a century of diamond expertise and the triple verification grant customers the assurance of incomparable quality and brilliance. Branded diamonds are also more consistent with the image and style of the brand, hence more recognizable than generic diamonds.

4. Where does Leo Diamond come from?

As one of the world’s leading diamond suppliers, Leo Schachter Diamonds collects quality diamonds from around the world, and transforms them into the dazzling Leo Diamond with the patented 82-facet cut and craftsmanship.

1. The patented 82-facet Leo Diamond is visibly brighter than conventional 58-facet round diamonds.
Does it mean a diamond with more facets would appear brighter?

The precise placement of facets and the craftsmanship of cutting, not the number of facets, affect how much light a diamond returns to your eyes. Hence, a diamond with more facets is not necessarily brighter. The patented faceting arrangement of Leo Diamond is carefully calculated and precisely placed, allowing maximum refraction of light. Every Leo Diamond is measured and certified for superior ‘Return of Light’, and comes with diamond certification from GemEx Systems.

2. Leo Diamond is visibly brighter, but can its brilliance be measured?

A diamond’s brilliance can be quantified by measuring its ‘Return of Light’, the amount of light a diamond returns to your eyes. GemEx Systems, an independent gemological laboratory, uses a state-of-the-art tool called a BrillianceScope to measure ‘Return of Light’ from five different viewing angles. Every Leo Diamond comes with a certificate from GemEx Systems, which can be checked on the Leo Diamond Website by entering the unique Leo identification number of each Leo Diamond.

1. How can I check the market price of my Leo Diamond?

Simply click ‘Grow Your Diamond’ on the Leo Diamond Website, and input the 4C attributes of your Leo Diamond on the ‘Leo Diamond Market Price’ page. You are also welcome to consult our staff in any of our shops.

2. Why are diamonds usually retrieved at a depreciated price, while the preferential program of ‘Grow Your
Diamond’ is based on the market price of Leo Diamond?

Diamonds retain value, and we would like our customers to enjoy the appreciating potential of diamonds. Hence, your present Leo Diamond can be retrieved at the prevailing Leo Diamonds market price when you purchase a new Leo Diamond at designated shops.

3. What are the criteria when retrieving a Leo Diamond? Can a diamond be retrieved if it is showing wear
and tear?

When a Leo Diamond is retrieved, it will be preliminarily checked by our staff for its laser IGI and Leo identification number. A diamond tester will also be used to check its authenticity. The diamond will then be sent for professional examination. With the help of precision instruments and the diamond’s certificate, specialists will verify the weight, identification number, clarity and cut of the stone. This process takes about 3 working days. If the diamond is showing slight signs of wear and tear, such as a scratch, and requires polishing, the fee would be paid by the customer. Customers can decide whether to have the diamond retrieved then.

4. Can I join the ‘Grow Your Diamond’ program in Hong Kong with a Leo Diamond bought in the States?

This service is not available at the moment. The preferential program of ‘Grow Your Diamond’ only covers diamonds sold in the jewelry stores under Lee Heng Diamond Co. Ltd., the sole agent of Leo Diamond in Hong Kong. Though the international market price serves as a reference for the retrieving price, it is hard to set a price on diamonds bought in different countries due to the differences in metalwork design fees and tax rates.

1. Why does Leo Diamond emphasize the importance of cut and lathing? Does it mean color and clarity are not
important?

Of all the aspects of a diamond, lathing is the hardest to assess and the easiest to overlook. The lathing of every facet of a diamond, including the cut, proportion, symmetry and polishing, affects the brilliance of the stone. A diamond of perfect color and clarity would not be exploding with light without the extraordinary cut and lathing. The patented 82-facet Leo Diamond is the product of careful calculation and precision lathing, allowing incomparable brilliance.
